Project Description

The next generation of a Styrian family business got its positioning, name
and branding by Studio TipTop. “Stock + Stamm” (in engl. “Stick +
Trunk”), an alliteration, combines wine and wood or rather the grapevine
with the tree trunk, but also the family tree of the Griesbachers. They
build tables out of old wine presses and matured timber. A sustainable
venture, which is mirrored by muted colors used in the design. The main
font looks as if it was handcrafted. It reminds one of cuneiform script or
carvings. As far as photography is concerned, hands and wood is a
recurrent theme. They stand for handicraft. One also gets to know the
family on the photos as they are – of course –gathered around a table. The
claim “Fragments of time out of wood for eternity” stands for
sustainability through recycling, which are the pillars of Stock + Stamm.
