Produktive is an office for product design founded by Matthias Ritschl after twenty years of experience in Austria and abroad. His work is characterised by the examination of technological potential and production conditions. Against this background, he develops medical products (prostheses, orthoses) and technical devices in collaboration with other design offices or as a strategic design partner of manufacturers. With design, says Matthias Ritschl, he gives things a human dimension.
We stage the connection between technology and design using an archaic image: the biface. In it, the human dimension resonates twice: through its proportion in relation to the hand, and as a cultural aspect, in its value as a tool. The graphic language (illustration, writing) makes the technical point of view sensually tangible. With photographs of the habitat of things, we show how they add value to people's everyday lives.
