The signage system for the newly built flagship youth hostel Schaan-Vaduz in Liechtenstein works on two layers. Layer one is the functional layer, guiding visitors within the building. Layer two provides the mostly international hostel guests with additional information about the country of Liechtenstein. A variety of more or less famous sights of Liechtenstein can be discovered throughout the building. Each object is presented as an icon, surrounded by an arrow pointing to its location as well as the physical distance in meters. In addition, more information to each location can be easily accessed via QR code.
