Fast, reliable orientation is essential in the transportation network of a major city. What does it take? A clear network map.
When it comes to designing such a map, there is a fine line between abstraction and realism. Based on thorough analyses and an idea by Ben Schmitz, we found the right balance and developed a radically new plan for Cologne. The existing ring-shaped structure of the city serves as the most important orientation guide. Essential passenger information complements the circular design of the plan.
Our claim: to offer travelers the best and fastest possible orientation.
The result: an intuitively understandable network map with a concentric structure that is the first of its kind in Germany. It represents how much value is added for both passenger information and ultimately for everyone, when combining user-friendly design with sophisticated orientation.
So that “searching“ becomes “finding“.
