In various ways we try to visualize in the written the expressive power of language.
Through the development of a paratextual sign system, the expressive essence of the spoken language is to be given to the written language.

Through the use of fonízeichen, the written word should sound without having to pronounce it. It is about "how" in communication; about comprehension; about maintaining prosody and intonation in written communication. The signs are intended to provide the opportunity to communicate even more precisely. Because written words are not enough. fonízeichen serve to facilitate understanding. The emotion should be expressed and transmitted together with the content.

This work forms the interface between typography, semiotics and pragmatics. The introductory book fonízeichen serves as a reference book of the individual characters and the system.
