Letterpress printed poster and cover of the first issue of «Grafikmagazin»
To start a physically printed magazine in the year 2021 almost seems anachronistic. The conflict of the beautiful (and maybe romantic) idea of a printed magazine and the trend of digitalisation was the topic of this poster. Is print dead or not?
The use of traditional reglets and furniture reflect the history of printed typography. Each piece used for the physical letterpress print has its history (scratches and dents). On top of that, there is a «new» layer: the word «NEU» (NEW) that has been drawn on the computer screen with a mouse and then has been laser-cut from MDF for letterpress printing. The connection of old and new was reflected on the poster.
