Project Description

Climate change and global warming is a big issue in the local forests. The Austrian Federal Forests (ÖBf) are already making their forests climate-friendly today and are gradually building the "forest of the future" by 2100. Colorful mixed forests are more resilient than monocultures and have a better chance of surviving negative environmental influences.

A large-format indoor installation consisting of nine types of wood was developed for the forest of the future. The special feature: The message on the wooden poster is transformed using lenticular technology. When entering the ÖBf company headquarters, the sentence "The climate changes the forest" can be seen. When leaving the building, the sentence "The forest changes the climate" appears.

The indoor installation is both a poster and an infographic. Each slat is made from one of the wood species that will be found in the forest of the future.
