Joseph Beuys and Nam June Paik's "Eur-Asia" project aimed to reconstruct a world divided into West and East, focusing on that Europe and Asia share common cultural roots.
The book's poster design, the culmination of an epic 25-year collaboration between two artists from Europe and Asia, is an accumulation of typography intended to be a visionary abstraction from thought and creation conceived with deep insight into history and philosophy.
It is based on an editorial expression focusing on the written word as an academic book. At the same time, Joseph Beuys and Nam June Paik's names, who are deeply connected to their respective backgrounds, are symbolically presented in melding typography that depicts their relationship.
Our work attempts to harmonize with the visual images that symbolize the books and visualize the history, philosophy, and figuration that the two artists left for humanity by considering their continuity.
