Project Description

The “Plauener Spitze” is the immaterial landmark of the Vogtland region in Saxony. The designs of the “Nouveautés”, novelties of the lace industry, came mostly from the pen of the students of the art school in Plauen.

With a striking key visual, we opened up a niche topic for new interest groups. It is based on the exclamation of a newspaper boy: “Nouveautééés!”.

The graduated black areas in the background are reminiscent of industrial buildings with smoking chimneys in the form of the “é” diacritics.

The industrial-looking Everett by Nolan Paparelli (Switzerland) and the modern interpretation of traditional writing with the Traulha by Bureau Brut (France) stand for the contrast between industry and handicraft.

The blue goes back to the cover material of the straps of almost all design patterns.

The appearance is used on the associated catalog cover and in the intro of the exhibition.
