Klangspuren, established in 1994, is a festival for new music. The posters at hand are at the centre of it's new visual appearance. They show acrylic-made letters stating «Klangspuren» on a grid with 12 units. Six varying images represent a process of experimenting which is a conscious analogy to one method of work in new music. The omission of selected letters follows a mathematical/musical principle and hence depicts musical chords. The gaps are meaningful as things that leave a trace («Spuren») are an appearance of the past: A trace is left by a thing that is gone. As part of the graphic experiment water was dripped onto petri-dish-style letters. – a subtle clue towards current convetions of seeing (Covid/laboratory) as well as a visualisation of hearing sound: Everybody knows the sound of water dripping onto a surface of plastics or paper. Hence, the posters can be seen and heard.
