This book is a monographic retrospective and offers for the first time an overview of the architectural work of the group "C4 Architekten". The collective belongs to the first generation of "Vorarlberg building artists", who with their architecture set important impulses for a change in building culture. In addition to biographies and current conversations with the last remaining member of the group, Karl Sillaber, the book contains a selection of the most important buildings of the collective. The original black-and-white images from the 1960s and 1970s are complemented by architectural plans. Towards the end of the book there is a series of color photographs of buildings that still exist today. The design takes into account the architectural features and brutalism style of the collective: clear visual and textual language, one dominant color, executed as a compact book block, black hardcover cut edges, black thread stitching, uncoated paper with a rough feel.
