Project Description

Elfenküche is a small soup kitchen in Dornbirn. Uniting traditional Chinese medicine elements and local seasonal vegetables into delicious soups, Elfenküche is a homebase for people who enjoy healthy lunch specials. For 10 years now, guests have been asking Ulli Marberger – the chef and owner of Elfenküche – for her recipes. That is why she decided to bring together over 30 recipes in a colorful new book. The cookbook is likewise aesthetic and practicable, as is the Zen-kitchen itself. The cover introduces one of the central themes: an embossed circle. It symbolizes an imaginary soup plate, as well as the circle of life, seasons and products used. Through the whole book, the dissolving colored circle repeats that theme. The typographic design and grid are very simple and functional. Lines lead the reader’s view from the units to the ingredients and big sized text enables the viewer to stand in the kitchen swinging pans and at the same time reading through the instructions.
