"SCHMELZART" is an elaborately designed art catalogue as well as an autobiography. Of 800 works by the artist Winfried Schmelz, the 350 most significant from the five decades of his work were included. The subjects were selected according to criteria of artistic quality and biographical relevance. In combination with personal texts about his life and work, the contours of a personality and his work, which is inseparably interwoven with it, emerge: art is a mirror of the soul.

The book launch took place in the summer of 2021 as part of a book presentation in the romantic courtyard of the Wachau-based art studio.
