Lewerentz Fragments is a 288-page volume, printed on 120gsm uncoated Munken Polar, with three false gatefolds, and two 12-page signatures of images printed on 115gsm Munken Matte. The book was printed in Denmark at Narayana Press, and is bound in grey linen, with black endpapers, grey headbands, and black foil stamping on the covers and spine. Images are printed in full-color, with black and white images rendered in quadtones. The typography, set in Optimo's Theinhardt, is simple and straightforward, reflecting the seriousness, simplicity, and craft of the subject at hand.
The visual framework of 'Lewerentz fragments' is an analog of the proportional devices found within the architecture of Sigurd Lewerentz—a tendency toward approximating divine relationships through simple integer ratios expressed in brick. The content aligns to the foot rather than the head, referencing the humility that permeated Lewerentz' sacred spaces; and the footnotes seamlessly intersperse both text & image.
