Project Description

The AUgust magazine of the August Kestner Museum of Cultural History in Hanover is a monothematic publication, but not always accompanying an exhibition. It is intended to establish references to the present and to deal with the ambivalence of the respective topic (here: The Animal and Us) from the perspective of external experts, laypersons, artists, etc.. The different aspects are underlined by the individual design of each article. The layout clearly stands out from a catalogue design. The contents also do not reflect the exhibits of the exhibition. In order to establish the reference to the respective exhibition, the exhibition poster is used blurred for the design of the cover. It thus forms the basis for the cover without representing the exhibition. The basic colour of the exhibition (in this case the colour yellow) is used consistently throughout the booklet.
