Idee und Klang Audio Design create artistic, historical or commercial soundscapes. The work of the studio includes challenging exhibitions, media and brand installations.
SUAN conceived and designed this sounding publication in close collaboration with Idee und Klang. Questions about the still young field of sound scenography as well as personal experiences in audio creation are reflected upon – framed by interviews and texts by guest authors active in the discipline.
The thread-bound Swiss brochure hard cover features illustrated case studies – each including a field report and two sound examples, easily accessible via QR codes. Incorporated in the section design, the codes complement the monochrome spectrograms, conveying the things heard on a visual level. Flat spectrograms in the footers indicate the themes associated with each sound. The book comes with a poster depicting an 8-channel recording and removable stickers providing tips on designing sound scenography.
