Creating Inclusive Digital Experiences
Accessibility of Graphical Interfaces for Visual Disabilities
According to estimates, only one third of the web-based systems of Austrian providers and two thirds of the available paid native apps are accessible for persons with visual, auditive, cognitive or motoric disabilities. Due to the changing legal obligations, but also because of economic benefits and the expected social responsibility of organizations, the design of accessible digital products will become more and more important in the next years. This thesis examines the basic criteria of accessibility, with a focus on visual impairments and graphical interfaces. It provides general knowledge about the criteria of accessibility from extensive literature research, the analysis of good pratice examples and the interview with experts on this field.
