BEST OFF is an annual exhibition format of University of Art Linz. BESTOFF 2020 shows how art interacts in times of crises and ongoing changes. The continuous back and forth between creativity and prohibition, the antipode of flexibility and immobility, open and closed, ON and OFF is incorporated in the exhibition branding.
The exhibition catalog continues the idea of ​​art in times of crisis: The transparent cover as a deliberately diffuse interplay between front and back, visibility and non-visibility, BEST and OFF, between ON and OFF.
The ultra-wide "Generation Mono" typeface enables horizontal and vertical typesetting for a playful, experimental editorial design.
The lack of raw materials and paper also defined the general conditions of production: Regional paper stock, environmentally friendly, and recycled.
