Science Notes Magazin #7 is all about the process and results of digging.
When you dig, you cut through crusts and layers, unearthing roots and animals, rocks and gems, bones, fossils and artifacts. These objects, assembled on a white cloth, interrelate and communicate with each other. The design picks up on this idea by playing with various forms of collages. The large format, the thick, rough paper and the staples remind of a digging diary. The edgy typeface recalls a spade or pickax.
Digging is tiresome business, but at the end, the spade may hit the burrowed treasure. This sparkling moment of discovery shines in pink Pantone 812.
