Quart, a magazine for culture in Tyrol, has been published every six months since 2003 in collaboration with outstanding creative people in the fields of visual arts, literature, music, theatre, architecture, design, photography and science. The list of authors is long and includes many prominent names from near and far. The cover of each issue is unique — in issue no. 38, Irene Kopelman (NL) is on the cover. The "original insert", an exclusive work of art that accompanies each issue, features 1,000 selfies taken by the artist Claudia Larcher (AT). Each one is unique and shows the artist with a golden emoji head. The basic visual concept devised by graphic design theorist and typographer Walter Pamminger catapults the medium of cultural magazines into the 21st century: in each issue, the left-hand pages serve as an echo chamber for the content presented on the right-hand pages. In this issue, 45 typography posters by the Swiss graphic designer Erich Brechbühl.
