Matthias Loebermann studied architecture in Stuttgart and painting at the AdBK Stuttgart. He confidently combines the two fields of architecture and art, juxtaposing buildings with paintings. In the last two decades, he has created two dozen subtle buildings and numerous works on paper.
Architecture and visual art are now united for the first time in an elaborate but extremely original and entertaining book. The so-called twin book contains two books in one cover that can be leafed through lying side by side. The transformation of material into the materiality of a surface, into a façade, into a spatial design and into a work of art, functions in Loebermann's work by showing the making. Short descriptions of the architecture and painting in the form of Japanese haikus complement the book in an unusual way.
