The fourth issue of the publication-series «Kulturorte» deals with two repertory cinemas in Innsbruck, «Leokino» and «Cinematograph». Verena Teissl, a cultural scientist, introduces the development of these institutions within the context of the 1970s. The idea of a cinema being a critical platform for questions around society rather than an entertainment-facility was new in these days. Especially French film productiona of that period was regarded a role model. In that sense, part of the typography of this book is inspired by the film «Pierrot le fou» by Jean-Luc Godard. It's front credits were projected as animated type implementing the typeface «Antique Olive». Fragments of text at the beginning of the chapters reflect on the illusion of time while the portrait-format of the book is complemented with a setting-area defined according to «Cinemascope»-proportions. Hence, the turned-around pictures can be looked at as if on a big screen.
