Does design need to be romanticized? Today's enlightened person is a sober realist who thinks and acts pragmatically. Instead of escaping the world in romanticism, today's successful person looks reality in the eye. There is room for dreams or feelings only in private. But what's wrong with gushing and idealistic imaginings? We want to test the limits of imaginative romanticism and rehabilitate the fantasy in our sober world. We are sure: we want a new era. A Romantic Renaissance.
SUGARCOAT manifests a variety of visual and literary material around the subject of romanticizing. Using extravagant fonts and colors, the topic is playfully visualized in 6 chapters. No two pages are alike, the abundance is disrupted by dreamy cloud images. Through enclosed interactive elements, the reader can further experience the personal and individual subject. The removable silk foulard can be used as a banner representing the New Romanticism.
