Choosing not to simply imitate the past, a unique combination of Viennese architectural details, striking colours and subtle finishing formed the basis of this Winter collection for the famous K.u.K. Hofzuckerbäckerei Demel.

The embossed diamond pattern mimics the roof of the nearby St. Stephan’s Cathedral, contrasting wintery tones challenge a classic Christmas palette, and a striking typeface (by PangramPangram) offers a playful nod to Demel's many styles of type across the centuries.

True to these principles, the cover of the advent calendar depicts the ornate Kohlmarkt facade in a refined way. Inside, the story of how the Hofzuckerbäckerei came about is delivered in delicate serif, reinforcing this Viennese fairytale.

The collection pays homage to Demel’s history of elegant packaging and layers sophisticated, contemporary details, to bring about a new generation of Demel packaging that lives in harmony with Demel's centuries of design cherished around the world.
