Project Description

Disinformation campaigns use the same five tricks time and again – not only on climate change but also on many other science-related issues, like COVID-19. According to communication psychologists, once you have seen through the basic strategies, you are much less susceptible to further attempts at disinformation – you are basically immunized against their spread.

The categories and the acronym F-L-I-C-C were developed by Australian cognitive scientist John Cook. klimafakten.de translated them to German and together we designed a large-format info poster with vivid images that help to understand and remember those tricks. It was published online and as a printed poster and has found its way into many educational institutions, offices, and private homes.
So far the poster was translated into Dutch, Spanish, and Portuguese. Not only the text was changed but also the illustrations were adjusted to match the linguistic images used in each language.
Format: DIN A2
