What do we dream? How do we dream? How could this unconscious experience be translated from a dream into reality?
For a month I wrote down the memories of my dreams every morning and used them as the foundation for my work.
In order to show the fleeting, fragile and delicate nature of dreams I printed the booklet which consists of 72 pages on transparent paper. Many dreams had already faded before I was fully awake and as a result they quickly move into the background of my reality. Other dreams stayed with me, details being recalled consistently throughout the day. I was able to translate these different layers into a tangible form with the help of transparent paper.
The fragile booklet is protected by a box, bedded on a soft ”pillow“ – symbolizing the protection we feel at night, the bed, or our own head. The personal and intimate nature of the booklet is represented by the rather small format of 14 × 18 cm.
