Social workers in Vienna are losing more and more contact with young people in urban areas. In the district Margareten, one of the reasons is the constant stigmatization of young people with a migration background by residents. In 2020, the Corona crisis shows to be an additional challenge - parks remain empty, and the facilities of the local youth work unused for a long time. How does a mobile youth work now draw attention to itself?
They hijack a new medium: a pizza box becomes their communication tool. Since young people speak best for themselves, young people created in 13 workshops more than 50 designs, each with a message to the people in the city. In cooperation with neighboring pizzerias, their ideas reached 6.000 households throughout Vienna.
In October 2021 all designs were exhibited at an art gallery in the 5th district of Vienna.
13 workshops, 50 opinions, 6.000 households,
1 exhibition, 1 book, 1 project.
