An experimental project honoring the women of bauhaus made for my final work at Budai Rajziskola (BRI). This project explores the work of 3 women–Anni Albers, Judit Kárász & Söre Popitz–who worked in the Bauhaus. I've always been saddened by the fact that art history often misses out on great artists who brought a new vision to the art world simply because they were women. I think it's crucial that in a sphere like art & graphic design, where there is still a greater emphasis on men today, that as a women I reach back & learn from the women artists who came before me. I chose three artists who worked with different media —textile, photography and graphic design— to paraphrase their work. The bauhausbroschüre is more an object than a book. I have tried to give the reader an exciting & tactile feeling through the structure & the use of different materials, which is also informative, as I present the biographies of the three women and also personal, as my reinterpretations are included.
